WHY GLOBAL PHARMACOVIGILANCE NEEDS AI | CHAPTER 3Bayer Case Study: Balancing Innovation and Safety

Bringing Centralization to Bayer

The Need

Leading global pharmaceutical company Bayer wanted to translate AE reports in a more centralized way.

Local teams spanning many different regions were using different processes and juggling various data entry and translation tools and standards, resulting in inefficiencies, inconsistencies, and errors.

The Solution

Welocalize introduced a streamlined and centralized translation process to relieve the burden on Bayer’s pharmacovigilance teams. This ensured smooth, consistent, standardized translations across all languages.

Welocalize also set up a robust process for exchanging feedback and communicating seamlessly with Bayer, ensuring that all translation needs were met.

The Results

The newly centralized translation process eliminated redundant or duplicate data entry and significantly improved efficiency, shortening turnaround times (TATs) and freeing up resources to be used elsewhere.

Although TATs were expedited, quality remained a core priority. Reporting AEs became quicker and easier, and errors were minimized, in turn improving patient safety and health outcomes.
