In 1997, husband and wife team Smith and Julia founded Welocalize, a company born out of their shared interest in culture, global business, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Smith was the driving force behind the ongoing transformation of both Welocalize and the wider language services industry, while Julia played a pivotal role in recruiting and developing Welocalize’s first accounting and personnel teams. Their appreciation for diverse cultures and viewpoints helped form the foundation of Welocalize’s 4-Pillars (Customer Service, Quality, Innovation and Global Teamwork), which remain core to its continued expansion today and over the years has empowered Welocalize’s global team to achieve more than they thought possible for themselves, colleagues and clients.

After more than 25 years as CEO, Smith now serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Welocalize, while Julia has retired.

Erin Wynn is the Chief Commercial Officer at Welocalize, where she has been a key figure since 2008. Her journey with the company began through the acquisition of Transware, a e-learning provider in the language service industry. Over the past 16 years, Erin has held various strategic commercial roles, each underscoring her commitment to both business growth and personal development within the team.

Erin’s leadership is defined by a passionate commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a collaborative work environment. Her approach not only drives commercial success but also cultivates a strong, people-centered culture that empowers individuals to thrive and innovate.
