School of Advanced Technologies for Translators – Trento, Italy – September 9-10
Welocalize was proud to sponsor the SATT 2016. The educational program is designed to provide professional translators knowledge, experience and resources about the trends in the translation industry, including machine translation and post-editing technologies. TAUS QE Summit – Dublin – June 8
Welocalize participated in the TAUS QE Summit taking place in Dublin. Olga Beregovaya, Vice President of Language Technology Solutions at Welocalize was a panelist for Topic 6: Towards an enterprise aggregated solution for DQF. In this session, she discussed an alternative solution to the current DQF API in which translated data segments remain on enterprise servers. TAUS is planning on providing an open specification of methods to facilitate the aggregation of data on the enterprise side.

Welocalize attended the 10th annual Compliance Week conference to meet with compliance, risk, and audit executives from corporations around the world. 2015 Project Managers Round Table – Berkeley, CA – May 20
Welocalize was proud to participate in The Localization Institute’s event. Presentations and discussions focused on advanced localization and project management topics. Tuyen Ho from Welocalize is on the Round Table Advisory Board and participated in the program. The format of the Localization Project Managers Round Table relies on short presentations, some of them impromptu, followed by extensive discussions involving as many attendees as possible.

Translation Quality Evaluation Summit – Dublin – June 4
Translation Quality Evaluation Summit is a workshop, where Welocalize’s Olga Beregovaya participated in discussing the growing interest for translation quality evaluation (QE). Topics included: sampled selection, quality estimation, outsourcing and crowdsourcing. MTE 2014 – Reykjavik, Iceland – May 26
Welocalize’s Lena Marg presented “Rating Evaluation Methods through Correlation” at MTE 2014. She presented findings from our data correlation analysis, which metrics turned out to be most valid and where we identified shortcomings when evaluating the quality of raw and post-edited MT versus human translation. She detailedl the first steps taken to improve our evaluation protocols in ongoing tests. Let’s talk about machine translation! David Landan discussed how to meet the needs of translating ever-increasing volumes of data with machine translation (MT). He explored ways of automating training data selection using a source content analysis suite and show how the selected data led to improved MT engine quality by using weScore and StyleScorer as a way to evaluate translations.
