AI in Action | Chapter 3
Streamlining Workflows
We live in an AI-driven content transformation era that is changing how we create, manage, and localize content.
The rise of AI in content creation has led to misconceptions, conflicting information, and an overall lack of clarity.
The truth is AI and human intelligence work best together.
AI technologies are fundamentally transforming translation workflows. Find out how.
Data annotation isn’t just a checkbox task. It requires a skilled workforce and the ability to think beyond the label.
Two case studies demonstrating our commitment to the strengths of AI and human intelligence to achieve streamlined processes.
AI technologies are fundamentally transforming translation workflows. For example, workflow management systems can integrate MT engines, streamlining communication between project managers, translators, and reviewers.
“We have fundamentally redesigned our workflow — integrating machine learning technology — to respond to these challenges, creating new opportunities for our clients. New functionality will support large corporations by leveraging Gen AI to automate high-volume content, quality evaluation, and work routing.”

Content Creation
The adoption of Gen AI is disrupting content creation and influencing responsibilities, workflows, and practices. This shift will involve creating language versions within existing content authoring and management systems.
As Gen AI has moved content upstream, content can be created and localized much earlier in the development process. The traditional workflow is linear, where content is first created in the source language and, once finalized, sent for translation and localization.
With Gen AI, the workflow is parallel, with content creation and multilingual translation done simultaneously. AI can automatically create localized versions of content based on the source material. A combination of business rules and algorithms will determine the required level of human post-processing of content, with lower-importance content potentially requiring minimal human effort.
Multimedia Content
AI can also streamline the creation of multilingual multimedia content, making it more cost-effective and efficient. AI-driven subtitling and captioning tools can transcribe spoken words, translate them into multiple languages, and synchronize them with the video automatically.
AI models can accurately mimic the human voice and generate synthetic audio in various languages. Human translators then review and refine the AI-generated text and audio output to ensure natural flow and cultural appropriateness.
Process Efficiencies
AI can streamline translation processes. AI-enabled quality estimation (AIQE) uses a specially trained neural network to automatically assess the quality of translations produced by MT engines or large language models (LLMs) and determine what level of human review a segment requires. Welocalize also uses AI to choose the optimal linguist for each task, assuring that each translation is done by a high-quality linguist at the best value.
Chris explains, “Our systems and technologies will support the next generation of multilingual content requiring new services. Leveraging our patent-pending technology, automating AI quality evaluation and resource selection, we can meet our clients’ exponential content growth from any source at scale.”
