Welocalize’s Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

welocalize March 4, 2020

We’d like to update you on how Welocalize and our operating companies are responding and working through preparedness plans as the COVID-19 outbreak evolves. Our operating companies include Park IP & Legal, Welocalize Life Sciences, Adapt Worldwide, and SearchStar.

Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

Welocalize’s COVID-19 Task Force (Task Force) is led by Jeff Ash, Chief Financial Officer. The Task Force works across our global business operations to ensure proactive, timely, coordinated responses and planning. Our global community includes our customers, employees, and talent network.  As such, our BCP includes the following:

  • Our People and Places. Focusing our internal response to the health and safety of our employees and our office locations, as well as general preparedness and communications as we adjust to different conditions in each of our locales, including business travel, prevention practices, and sick/leave policies.
  • Our Business Processes and Supply Chain. Focusing on anticipating and managing impacts to business process continuity, as well as the availability and productivity of our global talent network of freelancers, agencies, and partners.
  • Our Customers and Programs. Focusing on partnering and communicating with our customers to understand their impacts and ensuring we’re anticipating and reacting swiftly to evolving needs during this time. Through this collaboration and broad support, together we can adapt our processes to address emerging complexities of COVID-19.

Each of these areas is also supported by our IT and Technology team to ensure alternative work environments and data systems are part of BCP management to minimize impacts on employees, vendors, and customers.

Global Operations Delivery and Capacity

Regarding our worldwide production capabilities, we continue to deliver services and have experienced limited operational impact so far. We’ve been able to leverage flexible human resourcing to address isolated supplier constraints. Our global talent network have been fantastic partners in collaborating with us to minimize impact.

Regarding China, we are containing the risks through a list of planned actions including limiting travel, enabling working from home, daily updates on operational capacity, and expanding support from partners outside of mainland China. For other geographic hotspots, we use a similar framework with adjustments to accommodate jurisdictional considerations.

Our teams are also working directly with each customer to address specific situations regarding global capacity and planning.

As this is a fluid and dynamic situation, we will continue to be vigilant in monitoring and incorporating real time updates from the World Health Organization (WHO), public health experts, government authorities, global news agencies, and our customers and business partners.

Ongoing Communications

Global circumstances suggest, and experts recommend, preparing for more widespread transmission. As such, we will continue to update our global community as we have more information.
