June 2013 – Global storage and Data Management leader, NetApp, has established a virtual globalization center, the GPSO (Globalization Programs Strategy Office), to centrally process all globalization requests and framework: localization, testing, linguistic quality, internationalization, transcreation and translation activities. Initially established in 2009, NetApp teamed up with Welocalize to streamline localization, enabling global and simultaneous multilingual launches.
Globalization expert and Director of the NetApp GPSO, Anna N Schlegel commented, “I envisioned a future for NetApp with a virtual center for globalization excellence, with top talent. So we did it, we established the NetApp GPSO. This office would support any content type, any language, at any velocity, with no compromise on quality. Welocalize totally got it and was our trusted advisor from day one.”
“The GPSO centralizes all globalization and localization activities. It enabled our first truly global, simultaneous product launch in 2010. We’ve learnt how to go global in a consistent way. We now translate all content types, more languages and support more NetApp departments and products. Welocalize is a critical part of our localization strategy.” Said Anna Schlegel.
Over 3 years, translation went from 6m words into 6 languages to 20m words into 18 languages. With no increase in budget. Click here to find out more.
