Growing production center in Tokyo breeds new sales strategy
Frederick, MD United States, January 25, 2008 – Welocalize Inc., a leading provider of Integrated Globalization Services with operational centers in five countries, today announced the further expansion of its Japanese office with the appointment of Terukazu Konishi as Director of Sales in Japan. Mr. Konishi, an industry veteran with experience ranging from business development to localization solution engineering, will lead the new sales division in Tokyo.
Since the opening of a new production unit in July 2007, the Welocalize Japan office has been growing with steadfast speed in response to customer needs and shifting market trends. Welocalize Japan has provided customers with a Tokyo-based production house aimed to meet the high-quality language demands and local, in-country communication needs of multinational customers. “We are thrilled to have Terukazu join the team during this momentous time,” says Smith Yewell. “His excellent sales and account management experience will be a crucial asset to servicing the production and communication needs of our customers in Japan. As the lead sales strategist for the Japanese market, Mr. Konishi will position Welocalize as a hybrid single and multi-language solution provider to meet the unique needs of Japanese customers, offering translation from and into Japanese. With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, Mr. Konishi brings over a wealth of knowledge in the translation and localization industry. His familiarity with both the client and vendor side has produced optimal account management skills with a strong focus on solution engineering and market analysis. Mr. Konishi recently served as Managing Director of Moravia Japan and Director of Sales APAC, where he helped start up the Moravia Tokyo office, contributed to winning projects for Fortune 500 companies and developed multilingual opportunities in both Europe and Japan
