CrowdSight: Collaborate to Innovate
As more companies share information on their products and services online, they must generate content in multiple languages that is timely, relevant and updated on a daily or even hourly basis. At the same time, some global organizations depend on their user base or community to generate content that in turn must be translated quickly. In either case, the content must go through several iterations of translation and review – for all languages – before it can go live.
How do you deliver quick-turn translation for high profile, on-demand content without compromising quality?
CrowdSight provides the platform to manage the translation process for dynamic content by leveraging the appropriate group of stakeholders. Through this open-source application, Welocalize works with clients to define a “crowd”, group or community and set up a translation and review collaboration process that leverages the necessary constituents in the translation supply chain.
- Professional translators & reviewers
- Internal client stakeholders
- In-country reviewers
- End-users
- Non-professional community (crowdsourcing)
CrowdSight acts as a 'thin client’ that is easy to use and sits on top of GlobalSight, our open-source Translation Management System. Translators and reviewers can quickly login and collaborate on translations at a string level within a matter of days or hours! Since CrowdSight is integrated with GlobalSight, translators and reviewers can tap into its robust Translation Memory (TM), source file segmenting and filtering functionality without even entering the GlobalSight application. The CrowdSight platform is ideal for managing online review of translations that must be validated, approved or signed-off by a select group of content stakeholders and in-country reviewers.
Employing an interactive, web 2.0 model, CrowdSight allows clients to bypass the traditional localization cycle to generate on-demand translation that leverages the right resources and meets tight delivery schedules.
