Read how we help a provider of compliance and risk management learning programs map out a large-scale audio and video localization process to minimize costs, increase quality and improve time to market. Within a single year, Welocalize completed 182 e-learning compliance projects with a total of 4,000 hours of voice-over recording and 7 million translated words.

To accommodate a 10% increase in volume from one year to the next, Welocalize conducted a detailed process investigation using Six-sigma methodology on the entire workflow. This involved streamlining processes such as file preparation, resource planning and quality assurance.

To begin, Welocalize instituted a programmatic Language Quality Assessment (LQA) on the audio scripts prior to voice-over recording. This eliminated the need for pre-audio QA and costly re-recordings on the back-end of the schedule previously caused by inadequate translations, shaving more than 2 weeks off the timeline. Welocalize invests heavily in building partnerships with our vendors. By centralizing the voice-over recording to a single turn-key studio, we were able to expedite the process and eliminate any inconsistency errors in deliveries from multiple recording facilities. This reduced turn-around time and savings from audio rework are passed on to the client.

After Welocalize assembles their courses, we manages two separate quality assurance tracks: functional and linguistic. Functional testers run checks on punctuation, broken links and missing images, and linguistic testers validate the language and recording quality. Using our Hybrid Delivery ModelSM, the functional testing is performed in Welocalize low-cost offshore production centers for an average of 50% reduction in costs for our client.

Using innovative tactics around workflow and technology, Welocalize has improved efficiency and established a systematic program for on-time deliveries of localized e-learning programs in 42 languages - simultaneously! With 35-45 active projects at one time, the client logs into a portal to track the progress of their projects and gets real-time metrics on volume and spend for each language and course.
