Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) :
For all translation projects, regardless of scope, industry or volume, Welocalize employs a Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) strategy to manage language assets, including Translation Memory (TM) and Terminology. Through the use of commercially available tools or through GlobalSight, our open-source Translation Management System (TMS), the content submitted for translation is broken into individual segments, typically sentences, and compared to an existing set of previously translated segments stored in the TM. Welocalize works with all commercially available localization and Translation Memory tools such as GlobalSight, SDL/Idiom WorldServer, SDL Trados, SDLX, Passolo, Catalyst, Multilizer, RC WinTrans, Déjà Vu, MemoQ, MultiTrans, STAR Transit, and Wordfast as well as client-specific tools if necessary.
Machine Translation (MT)
For technical support content, product documentation and web content, Welocalize can implement Machine Translation (MT) programs to accommodate high-volume translation needs at an affordable price. To identify if a client project is a candidate for MT, Welocalize first conducts an extensive pilot to evaluate the content type, determine the appropriate language pairs, achieve the desired quality levels and estimate the cost savings. If all meets expectations, we proceed with MT deployment and pass on the cost savings to our client. Typically all post-edited files from the MT output go through our standard Language Quality Assessment (LQA) to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Crowdsource
Major product launches consist of distributing a multitude of materials and files to a vast network of stakeholders across all language-specific and regional markets. Hand-offs between authors and developers to translators and reviewers only increase in scope with the addition of more languages. At the same time, global organizations depend on their user base or community to generate content that in turn must also be translated. How do you manage and collaborate with all of the players in the supply chain? Welocalize provides an on-demand translation solution through CrowdSight, an open-source crowdsourcing application, that engages the various constituencies such as authors, developers, translators, reviewers, sales and marketing and end-users to collaborate on the translation process.
Quick Turnaround
As more companies share information on their products and services online, they must generate content in multiple languages that is timely, relevant and updated on a daily or even hourly basis. For frequent content updates, Welocalize provides quick turn translations that meet expedited release cycles. Based on exigency and demand, we work with clients to categorize content into sections and identify appropriate release cycles and turnaround times for each. Using our vast network of resources around the world, we provide project management, translation and production services around the clock!
Staffing
Welocalize provides on-site translators and reviewers for both short-term and long-term contracts in over 100 languages. Together with the client, we have built a flexible program designed to expand and contract according to recurring, fluctuating or evolving staffing needs. For major multilingual launches or when clients experience an unexpected shortage of resources, Welocalize supports clients by recruiting, selecting and placing the right number of linguists on-site to fulfill specific requirements for language, industry and duration – over a few days, months or even years.
