October 30, 2007 Welocalize and Alchemy Partner via the Alchemy LSP Gold Program

Less than one month prior to the release of the open source GlobalSight Translation Management System (TMS), Welocalize opens the door to the beta version of the software by inviting members of the community to participate in the final integration testing. Participants include four members of the Steering Committee: AOL, Autodesk, Salesforce.com and Sun Microsystems, and four Language Service Providers (LSPs): Afghan Translation Service, Applied Language Solutions, Lloyd International Translations and VistaTEC.

GlobalSight organizes its first User Meeting since the launch of the open-source Translation Management System (TMS) in January. The community now consists of 730 users who have downloaded the software and are currently engaged in installation, testing or deployment phases. Through the forums on www.globalsight.com these users have posted over 425 requests on process improvements and product enhancements in their quest for a next-generation, open-source TMS.

September 12, 2007 Welocalize Acquires Localize Technologies in California

Welocalize launches the first major enhancement release for GlobalSight, the open-source Translation Management System (TMS), that addresses direct requests submitted by the open-source community—now totaling 766 members. The new release marks the beginning of its 2009 roadmap trend to open-up the software further by providing direct access to language assets through external, business process applications.

A month after the launch of GlobalSight 7.1, an open-source Translation Management System (TMS), 395 language industry professionals have downloaded the product to test its merits as a low-risk, open-source alternative to proprietary TMS software for managing, translating and delivering global business content. In a recent survey conducted by Welocalize, 73% of companies who have downloaded the product consider GlobalSight 7.1 a promising TMS contender for their organization and plan to continue evaluating the product.
